Who this agreement is with
You're agreeing to terms with Quantumize AI Inc., a Québec company.
This Terms of Service agreement ("Agreement") is between you ("User") and Quantumize AI Inc., a company incorporated under the laws of Québec, Canada ("Quantumize AI", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using NBU, you agree to be bound by these terms.
What NBU is
NBU is a personal finance tool. Not a bank. Not a financial advisor.
NBU is a personal finance software product that helps you organize and understand your spending by analyzing bank statement exports. NBU is not a bank, not a financial institution, not a registered financial advisor, and not a credit bureau. Use of NBU does not constitute a banking, lending, or advisory relationship of any kind. Your account
You must be 18+, keep your password secure, and only have one account.
To use NBU, you must be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may not share your account with others. One account per person.
If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us immediately at hello@quantumize.ai.
Acceptable use
Use NBU for your own finances. Don't try to break it or misuse it.
You may not:
- —Use NBU for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law.
- —Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from NBU.
- —Upload files that are not your own bank statements.
- —Attempt to gain unauthorized access to NBU's systems or other users' accounts.
- —Use NBU in any way that could harm, disable, overburden, or impair the service.
Beta disclaimer
NBU is in beta. Things can change or break. We're working on it.
NBU is currently in public beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed without notice. We provide the service "as-is" during the beta period and do not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or continuity of any specific feature.
We are not liable for data loss during the beta period, though we take reasonable technical precautions to prevent it.
Your data
Your data is yours. We process it only to run the service.
You retain ownership of all transaction data and personal information you upload to NBU. By using NBU, you grant Quantumize AI a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the NBU service to you. We do not claim any ownership rights over your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Intellectual property
NBU, Valerie, and the owl are ours. Please don't use them without asking.
NBU, the Valerie name and character, the owl logo, and all associated branding, software, and content are the intellectual property of Quantumize AI Inc. and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use our trademarks, trade names, or branding without prior written permission from Quantumize AI Inc.
Limitation of liability
We're not responsible for financial decisions you make based on NBU's analysis.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Quantumize AI Inc. is not liable for:
- —Any financial decisions you make based on NBU's analysis or Valerie's responses.
- —Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of NBU.
- —Loss of data during the beta period, provided we have taken reasonable precautions.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from your use of NBU shall not exceed the total amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, during the free beta period, is $0 CAD).
Termination
Either of us can end this. We'll give you reasonable notice except in cases of abuse.
You may delete your account and terminate this agreement at any time from Account Settings. We may terminate or suspend your account for violations of these Terms. For serious violations (fraud, abuse), termination may be immediate. For general termination, we will provide at least 30 days' notice.
Governing law
Québec law governs. Disputes go to Québec courts.
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Any disputes arising from this Agreement shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of the Province of Québec.
Payments and subscriptions
Paid plans renew monthly. Charges already made aren't refundable, but you can cancel anytime to stop future renewals.
NBU offers optional paid plans (Plus and Household). If you subscribe:
- —Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- —Payments already charged are non-refundable.
- —You can cancel anytime from your account. Cancellation stops future renewals, and your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period.
- —Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude any applicable taxes, which are added at checkout where required.
- —Your price is locked when you subscribe. If we raise prices later, you keep the rate you signed up at for as long as your subscription stays active on the same plan. Switching plans moves you to the then-current price of the new plan.
- —Payments are processed by Stripe; NBU never sees or stores your full card number.
Language
Available in English and French. For Québec residents, the French version governs if there's a conflict.
This Agreement is available in both English and French. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the English and French versions, the French version shall govern for Québec residents, as required by the Charte de la langue française.
Community learning and Sparks
You earn Sparks for teaching merchant categories only when community learning is on. Turn it off and those pending Sparks are reversed.
Some Sparks rewards are tied to community learning. Earning Sparks for teaching NBU merchant categories requires community learning to be turned on (Settings → Data).
If you withdraw consent, your pending contributions are removed and the Sparks earned for them are reversed; the exact amount is shown before you confirm. See our Privacy Policy for how community learning works.
